Closing Down FAQ

The MegaSceneryEarth website is closing down on 31 December 2025. Here is everything you need to know.

Sometimes, good things must come to an end. After 20 years of the MegaScenery brand and hundreds of thousands of flight simmers enjoying our scenery, we are ceasing sales of MegaSceneryEarth and closing down the MegaSceneryEarth website.

While many customers are still using the legacy FSX, FSX:Steam, and Prepar3D, creating new scenery and reaching and finding new customers to purchase the scenery is no longer a sustainable operation. While we stopped developing new titles several years ago, it also turned out that only finding the new customers and maintaining the current server operation was also not sustainable. So our choice was to simple close down the store and for the owner to move onto other things.

YOU CAN ORDER MEGASCENERYEARTH UNTIL 31 DECEMBER 2025.
You can continue to order MegaSceneryEarth titles until 31 December 2025. If you were holding off purchasing any scenery for use with the above simulators, now is the time to put mouse in hand and order what you need.

YOU CAN DOWNLOAD PREVIOUS PURCHASES UNTIL 31 DECEMBER 2026.
While you can only order MegaSceneryEarth until 31 December 2025, we will still maintain the ability to download and redownload any previous purchases until 31 December 2026. Please ensure that you have downloaded and made at least 2 offline backup copies of your BGL files because you will no longer be able to download after this date.

ACTIVATING AND INSTALLING IN THE FUTURE
We will keep our activation server online permanently so you will be able to reinstall and reactivate your scenery permanently.

HELP US GET THE WORD OUT THERE
We, and those who you would help, would appreciate you getting the word about the closure out there so flight simmers who do not yet know about our scenery can have a chance to enhance their sims with photoscenery, That includes users of FSX, FSX:Steam, and Prepar3D (all versions). Just tell them we are closing and point them to our website at www.megasceneryearth.com.
